Fix a golf slice is a thought that many amateur golfers have in their minds. Studies reveal over 80% of all amateur golfers slice the ball. There have been more training aids, drills and tips to fix the golf slice that I can't even begin to count.
If you hit a golf slice, have you taken lessons; bought any training aids, and done several drills only to still hit a slice? What a frustrating situation! Do you realize what's causing your golf slice?
This slice problem, is actually because the club-face comes across the ball in a way that it makes it side-spin. By first looking at it, we would think is it a mechanical problem. Nevertheless, it is more of a physical issue.
You need to know that it is your body what rules your capability to swing the club with effectiveness. If you have any kind of physical impediment, your swing will come with mechanical problems and the faults will appear.
When you swing there are many damages if you don't have proper mechanics. If you are not able to make a 90 degree turn on the back-swing, you will automatically do anything to feel like you are making a complete turn.
Looking for a good example of this case would be to turn your hips beyond the 45 degrees that gives you access to make a full back-swing. What this does is that it robs you of capability. You have absolutely no torque in you to release into the ball at impact.
It is the same thing with a golf slice
A golf slice is caused by the upper body getting ahead of the lower body, creating an "over-the-top" move, which in turn results in your club-face slashing across the ball and creating side-spin. Here comes the banana ball!
Your first inclination would be to go get golf lessons to fix your slice. If that does not work, then you get a training aid. If that doesn't work either, you might go and get an offset driver to help you correct your slice issue.
Does it look familiar to you?
Want a real solution? Leave the lessons behind. Do not purchase any training aid. And keep your driver in your bag.
You need to work on you core rotational flexibility to be able to initiate the downswing with your lower body first, to avoid the upper body getting ahead of it. It's that simple. The minute your able to separate the upper and lower body upon initial move down...you'll see that golf slice improve dramatically.
Doesn't that make sense?
Along with fixing your golf slice, you'll add up to 30 yards to your drives. You will get more roll when the ball lands from a draw ball flight. A golf slice is a weak shot that does not penetrate the air for maximum distance.
